| Svalbard 1:100 000 |
The Svalbard topographic map series comprises 62 map sheets at a scale of 1:100 000. The exception is the map of Bjørnøya (Bear Island) (D20), which is at a scale of 1:50 000. Contour intervals are 50 m. All maps are printed in datum WGS84, except for A6, B7, B8, C7, D20, G7 and H7 which are printed in datum ED50. |

**** The map sheets A4, A5, A7, A8, B4, B5, B9, B10, B11, B12, C8, C9, C10, C11, C12, C13, D8 and D9 have been totally reproduced based on aerial images from 1990 and 1995.

In 1936 large parts of Svalbard were aerially photographed for the first time (not vertically). 11 map sheets of Spitsbergen are based on these photographs. S100 sheets: A7, A8, B9, B10, B11, B12, C10, C11, C12 and C13.
Vertical aerial photographs have been used since 1960. Today, infrared photography is used in map-making. 23 map printed sheets are available; the rest are sold as black and white.
